GIPS® compliance

Global Investment Performance Standards – GIPS® – are ethical standards to be used by investment managers for calculating and presenting the investment performance of an investment management firm.  The standards are voluntary and are based on the fundamental principles of fair representation and full disclosure.

The standards allow investors to directly compare the performance of different investment managers on an apples-to-apples basis by using a consistent methodology, and help build an environment of credibility and trust within the investment industry. Compliance to the GIPS® standards demonstrates a firm-wide commitment to ethical best practices and strong internal control processes.

Greystone claims compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standard (GIPS®). Greystone has been independently verified by Deloitte & Touche LLP for the period January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2009. A latest copy of the Auditor’s verification report is available upon request.

Verification is intended to determine whether (a) the firm has complied with all the composite construction requirements of the GIPS standards on a firm-wide basis, and (b) the firm’s processes and procedures are designed to calculate and present performance results in compliance with the GIPS standards. Verification does not ensure the accuracy of any specific composite presentation.
