Summer employment, work-study & internships
Greystone offers two concurrent internships, each with a one-year term. These positions rotate through all areas of investment management to ensure broad experience.
A limited number of work-study and summer employment positions may also be available.
A Greystone internship
Interns become full members of and actively participate in Greystone teams specializing in asset strategy, money market, bonds, Canadian equity, US equity and real estate investing and equity trading.
A specific curriculum is provided for each work segment. Interns rotate through the investment team, with equal work terms applying to each team.
A Greystone internship is the ideal way to apply course material to real-world situations. To check whether a student is making the right career move, so they can fine-tune future choices. Moreover, it expands the student’s network, through a host of new contacts within the industry. Even better, it’s a chance to impress a potential employer (we’ve hired previous work-study interns). And it pays the bills for future study.
Work-study and summer employment
Greystone accepts a limited number of semester-long, work-study appointments. These are typically positions assigned to a specific area of the firm (e.g. fixed income, accounting), with candidates selected in conjunction with a university school of commerce or administration.
Summer employment opportunities are generally advertised in commerce or administration faculty offices, and are also posted here.
Candidates
Greystone seeks finance-focused, commerce or administration undergraduate students. Based on interest and skill sets, students from other disciplines may also be considered.
